Funding opportunity: Cataloguing grants programme

The National Archives is administering the distribution of more than £1.5 million over five years to tackle cataloguing backlogs.

This programme has been made possible by the generous support of the Pilgrim Trust, the Foyle Foundation, the Wolfson Foundation, the Monument Trust, the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation, the Mercers Company Charitable Foundation, the Goldsmiths Company and the J Paul Getty Jnr Charitable Trust.

The National Archives provides additional funding, together with expert and secretariat support for the programme. Final decisions on the allocation of grants are made by an independent expert panel. The programme seeks to support the cataloguing of outstanding collections in need of external funding to provide access to their content.

The 2011 round of the National Cataloguing Grants Programme for Archives has now closed. A further round will run in Spring 2012. The documentation for 2011 remains live on the website for reference.

Further information about the Programme including impact review and previous successful projects is available here.
